About GYBA

Building Guelph Basketball Since 2006

The Guelph Youth Basketball Association was formed through the unification of seven local basketball clubs, all sharing a vision: creating the best possible basketball experience for young athletes in our community. Since then, GYBA has become one of the largest youth basketball organizations in Guelph and the surrounding area.

As a registered not-for-profit organization, GYBA is led by volunteers who are passionate about youth development and committed to creating positive experiences both on and off the court. Our programs focus on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and personal growth.

To provide youth with opportunities to participate and compete in an environment that emphasizes basketball fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility, and positive self-image.

Governance, Policies & By-Laws

Committed to Safe, Inclusive Basketball

GYBA maintains policies and procedures that support safe, inclusive, and athlete-centred basketball programming. These policies align with the standards of Ontario Basketball, the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC), and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport Safe Sport framework.

As a member club in good standing with Ontario Basketball, GYBA adheres to all Ontario Basketball policies and procedures. Where a GYBA policy differs from a current Ontario Basketball policy, the Ontario Basketball policy shall prevail.

GYBA's by-laws are reviewed annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is open to all members.

GYBA is a registered not-for-profit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operating in accordance with its corporate by-laws and the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.
